In 1992, my beagle puppy, Kasey and I, met pet store owner, Dee Hum. She was my beagle “whisperer” and my hands were full with my spunky pup. Dee and I bonded over beagles and food.  

 

Every Christmas, Dee made her special almond toffee. My older sister Sue was the recipient of Dee’s toffee and told me that I needed to learn how to make it. I spent an afternoon, learning every step of the recipe for almond toffee. 

 

Dee is no longer with us, but her toffee lives on. Over the years, I have adapted her special recipe and now I am able to share my special toffee with you!
